Clothing for independent, curious, and joyful women.

InWear
InWear was founded by Danish designer Niels Martinsen in 1969. At the age of 20, as a co-owner of one of Copenhagen’s trendiest nightclubs, Niels came up with the idea for a fashion brand. He wanted to create clothing for the women around him—independent, curious, and joyful. Together with his then-partner, the young and talented fashion designer Kirsten Teisner, he bought six rolls of jersey fabric and created a collection of dresses and shirts.
Overnight, InWear became a fashion sensation. The brand presented a modern vision of feminism for a generation of women who forged their own paths. Fifty years have passed, the world has changed at a rapid pace, but InWear’s philosophy remains constant: To create a wardrobe full of elegant pieces that give women a sense of freedom, pride, and strength.
"I want to create clothes that are relevant, here and now, in this moment. What I am truly passionate about is the idea of designing for women’s real lives—clothes that make women feel good. It’s about being timeless and chic, but always with an attitude—a killer detail or something unexpected." — Jette Romvig, Head of Design
