Beyond Sustainable

As part of our sustainability strategy, we have installed four 3 m3 tanks at the center that collect rainwater. Why do we collect rainwater then? The advantage of our shopping center being located on the beautiful west coast is that rain is rarely a problem. Therefore, we can fill up our water tanks pretty much all year round and then use it to water all the beautiful plant and flower arrangements at the centre. But not only that, even our cleaning machines and the steam roller that did the last paving work use the water. Why waste a precious resource like fresh water when there is literally water falling from the sky that is perfect for watering the flowers

Speaking of our flowers and plants at the center. Did you know that the plants planted at Hede Fashion Outlet are grown in the immediate area, in Fjärås? Of course, we want to make the case for all native species and beautiful flowers and plants that are grown here in Sweden, while at the same time avoiding unnecessary transport and emissions when the plants are grown just a few kilometers from the center

If you come to our center via the small entrance from Hedebrovägen, you might have noticed a wild flower meadow? It is deliberately wild as we want it that way to promote biodiversity. In addition to wild flowers, we have placed large stumps in the meadow, where the insects thrive and can build nests. The stumps have been dug up in a nearby field and given a new function instead of being burned. There are also several insect hotels in the meadow that are open 24/7 all year round for winged guests. We also took the opportunity to build the hotel on an old flagpole that would otherwise have been thrown away. Yes, we do like recycling

If you are part of the growing crowd of electric car drivers in Sweden, there is always a place for you and your car at Hede Fashion Outlet. Right next to our main entrance, perhaps in the best parking spots of all, you will find no less than 15 electric car charging stations. You simply load up your ar battery through EON's app or tag

For those who want to travel by public transport to Hede, there is a daily commuter train between Gothenburg Central Station or Kungsbacka Station and Hede Station. From the station, you are then just a short 5-minute walk from the center. Of course, you can also take the bus to us, you will find stops right next to our center. If you bring the bicycle here, there is of course room for it in both the large and small entrance

We have taken a number of measures at the center in our endeavor to become more energy efficient. Among other things, we have replaced the lighting in parts of the center with LED lights. In some parts of the center, there is also energy-saving automatic light control with a main switch that is connected to the lock control on the shop premises

The pedestrian street in the center is heated by district heating controlled by temperature sensors connected to the meteorologist service to optimize the whole system to be energy efficient. Something else that is efficient is the low-flush faucets that you will find in our public spaces such as toilets and the information center, but also in our main office. The faucets have also been equipped with motion detectors that turn off the water when you remove your hands from the jet. Just imagine how much water it saves every day

The extension of Hede Fashion Outlet was inaugurated in 2019. The project was not only long-awaited, but has also been designed according to LEED, an international environmental certification system
